Tornado Hits French Village of Horgues

A tornado struck the village of Horgues, located in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in southwestern France, causing significant but highly concentrated damage. According to a resident quoted in local media, the event was "extremely localized," with one side of the village suffering major destruction while the other side remained completely untouched.

The tornado formed as part of a broader wave of severe weather that affected the region southwest of Toulouse. The storms caused enough damage to force the closure of at least one road to traffic for several days, disrupting local transport.

Witnesses described intense bursts of lightning accompanying the storms, along with flooding in several streets. In one particularly striking case, water reportedly cascaded into a restaurant, resembling a small indoor waterfall, illustrating the sheer force of the downpours.
