How do I practice English reading with news?
Pick a story at your level, read it once for the general idea, then read again with the vocabulary list. Listen to the audio while reading along, then take the quiz to check your understanding. Two stories a day, every day, is the routine that works.
Which level should I read: A2, B1 or B2?
Start at Medium (B1). If you understand almost everything without the vocabulary list, move up to Difficult (B2). If it feels hard, switch to Easy (A2) — every story has a level switcher at the top, and the facts stay the same at every level.
Is this reading practice free?
Yes — every story, audio narration, vocabulary list, quiz and printable worksheet on Practice with News is completely free, for self-learners and for teachers using them in class.
Is news reading practice good for ESL students and beginners?
Yes. News is current and worth talking about, which makes it motivating. Beginners should start with Easy (A2) stories: 100–170 words, short sentences, and only the most common English words — with audio to train listening at the same time.
