Listen to the story

A tornado hit the village of Horgues in France. Horgues is in the Hautes-Pyrénées area. The tornado caused a lot of damage.

A person from the village said the tornado was very local. This means it only hit a small place. One side of the village had big damage. The other side had no damage at all.

Near Toulouse, big storms also hit the area. There was a lot of lightning. Some streets became flooded with water.

One road was closed for several days because of the storm damage. Water even fell inside a restaurant like a small waterfall.

People took photos and videos of the storms. The images showed how strong the storms were.
