Spain's weather agency, Aemet, has issued a red alert for torrential rain in Catalonia. A red alert is the highest level of weather warning and means the situation is very dangerous.
The heavy rain has increased the risk of flooding in several areas, including Alt Penedès, l'Anoia, and Baix Llobregat. Local authorities are watching these regions closely because water levels could rise quickly.
The storm has already affected rail transport. Several AVE high-speed trains and Media Distancia (medium-distance) trains have been suspended for safety reasons. Rodalies, the regional train network around Barcelona, has also reported disruptions.
