Typhoon No. 25 Brings Heavy Rain Warning to Japan, Cancels Flights

A big typhoon is moving near Japan. It is called Typhoon No. 25. The storm is bringing heavy rain to two areas. These areas are the Izu Peninsula and Kanto. Kanto includes Tokyo. People in these places must be careful. The rain can be very heavy and dangerous.

The typhoon is also stopping flights. Two airlines, ANA and JAL, canceled 63 flights. Most of these flights use Haneda Airport. Another airline, Jetstar, canceled 37 flights. These flights use Narita Airport. Both airports are near Tokyo.

This news was true at 1:00 a.m. on the 21st. The number of canceled flights may change. People should check with airlines before they travel.

The Japan Weather Association also talked about hot weather this year. They said western Japan will be hot in two periods. One is late July to early August. The other is late August.
