India Faces Pressure Over Russian Oil and US Tariffs

India is in a difficult place. The United States wants India to stop buying oil from Russia.
President Trump says he will put a big tariff on India. A tariff is extra money you pay to bring goods into a country. Trump says the tariff could be 100%.
The tariff is a threat because of Russian oil. India still buys a lot of oil from Russia. China also buys oil from Russia.
Ukraine's leader, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, thanked Trump. Trump signed a new law about sanctions on Russia. Sanctions are rules that stop trade with a country.
Zelenskyy said the new law is very important. He hopes it will stop Russia's war in Ukraine.
Russia may need help from other countries now. Russia may ask African countries to be its allies. An ally is a country that helps you.
India must now choose. It can buy cheap oil from Russia. Or it can keep good business with the US.
This is not an easy choice for India.
