He has a new plan. He wants the government to buy 200 supermarkets. The supermarkets are from Coles and Woolworths. These are two big supermarket companies in Australia.
The plan will cost $25 billion. Chandler-Mather says this money will help people. He says it will make food cheaper.
The idea is called nationalisation. This means the government owns the stores, not private companies. The government would run the supermarkets for the public.
Chandler-Mather got this idea from Zohran Mamdani. Mamdani is a politician in New York. He also wants public stores to help with prices.
Chandler-Mather says Coles and Woolworths charge too much for food. He thinks public supermarkets will charge less. This way, families can save money on groceries.
