The government of Brazil has a new plan for small businesses. These small businesses are called MEIs. MEI means a person who runs a very small company alone.
The plan is called Prospera MEI. It will help people who have debts. A debt is money that a person must pay back.
The government will forgive some tax debts. To forgive a debt means the person does not have to pay it anymore.
The government will also buy bank debts from MEIs. This means the MEIs will not owe money to banks anymore.
The plan also gives money to MEIs. People can get up to 5,000 reais. Reais is the money used in Brazil.
This money can help MEIs invest in their business. To invest means to use money to grow something.
