Two orcas are in a marine park in France. The park is called Marineland Antibes. It closed on January 5. It closed because France wants to stop dolphin and whale shows.
The two orcas are Wikie, who is 23 years old, and her son, Keijo, who is 11. Their pool has a lot of algae. It is not clean.
Twelve dolphins are also in the park.
Many people are worried. They think the orcas are not safe or healthy. They show videos of the orcas to the French government to get help.
It is hard to move the orcas. France said the whales can’t go to a park in Japan. Spain said “no”. The park in Spain is too small.
Some people want to send Wikie and Keijo to a safe place in Canada. They think this is the only way. The place in Canada is bigger than the pool.
Marineland park managers said the orcas must leave soon. It is important to find a good home for them.
The orcas cannot go into the sea. They were born in the park. They might not be safe in the wild.
