A series of earthquakes has continued to shake the province of Granada, in southern Spain, days after a stronger tremor was recorded there earlier in the week.

On Tuesday, a tremor with a magnitude of 4.8 struck the region, alarming residents across Granada and its surrounding towns.

Overnight, the seismic activity intensified further, with six additional earthquakes recorded in the space of a few hours, five of which were strong enough to be felt by local people.

Among them was a tremor of magnitude 2.8, whose epicenter was located in Armilla, a municipality on the outskirts of Granada.

Seismic sequences of this kind are not unusual following a moderate earthquake, as such events are frequently followed by a series of smaller aftershocks, which can occur over a period of days or weeks as the earth's crust adjusts.

According to available reports, no injuries or significant structural damage have so far been linked to the tremors, though authorities and seismologists are continuing to monitor the situation closely.

Southern Spain, and the Granada region in particular, lies within an active seismic zone, meaning earthquakes of moderate magnitude are periodically recorded there, though a cluster of this size within a single night has drawn particular attention from both residents and specialists.
