Mount Etna Eruption: Catania Airport to Reopen Early

Italy's national institute for geophysics and volcanology, known as the INGV, has lowered its aviation alert level for Mount Etna following a fresh eruption of the Sicilian volcano.

However, with the lowering of the flight alert, indicating a reduced risk of ash affecting aircraft, the airport's reopening has now been brought forward.

According to the latest updates, Catania airport is expected to resume operations at 2 PM, earlier than originally anticipated.
