Madrid Gets Cooler Weather on Thursday

Madrid is set to experience a brief respite from summer heat this Thursday, as Spain's national weather agency, Aemet, has forecast a notable temperature drop alongside light, scattered rainfall across the capital.

According to the agency's latest bulletin, maximum temperatures will reach only around 25 degrees Celsius, a significant fall compared to the recent days, when the city recorded highs of up to 30 degrees Celsius.

The forecast also points to dispersed light showers throughout the day, though Aemet has not indicated that the rain will be intense or widespread. Instead, the precipitation is expected to be patchy, affecting different areas of Madrid at different times.

This shift in conditions is being welcomed by many residents who have endured uncomfortable heat in recent weeks. The cooler spell, while modest, offers a temporary reprieve from the summer's typically high temperatures.

Weather experts note that such fluctuations are not unusual during the summer months in central Spain, where temperatures can vary considerably from one day to the next due to shifting atmospheric conditions.

Despite the drop expected on Thursday, Aemet has not ruled out a return to warmer, drier conditions in the days that follow, as is often the case with short-lived cool spells in the region.

For now, Madrid residents are being advised to make the most of the milder weather, which is expected to bring a welcome, if brief, change from the intense heat that has characterised much of the season so far.
