Hot Weather Returns to Italy, With Temperatures Up to 40°C

Italy is bracing for a return of intense heat, as forecasters warn that temperatures could climb as high as 40°C in parts of the country over the coming days.

The renewed heat is being driven by a new anticyclone, often described in weather reports as a 'heat dome', which is expected to move in over central and southern Italy.
