El Gran Wyoming Talks About His 19 Flats in Madrid
Listen to the story
Spanish television presenter El Gran Wyoming, 71, has opened up about both his financial success and his difficult childhood in a candid interview.
Addressing questions about his wealth, he confirmed that he owns 19 flats in Madrid. "It is true that I have 19 flats in Madrid," he stated plainly.
He went on to explain that the money is the result of a long and successful career, and that he simply chooses to invest it in property. "I have earned a lot of money, and I invest it in what I want," he said.
Rather than apologising for his wealth, he compared his choices to those of other wealthy people, noting that some prefer to buy boats, while others invest in estates used to raise bulls.
By drawing this comparison, he appeared to suggest that spending money on multiple properties is no different from the choices made by other members of Spain's wealthy class, who often channel their fortunes into luxury goods or rural land.
The presenter also reflected on a more painful chapter of his life: his mother's repeated and extended hospital stays during his childhood.
"My mother spent half her life in the hospital," he said, recalling a reality that shaped much of his early family experience.
He admitted that, at the time, the family treated this situation as something ordinary, simply part of their everyday life. There was little discussion about what it truly meant.
However, he suggested that perspective shifts significantly with age. "When you grow up, you realise what her absence meant," he said, hinting at a deeper, more painful understanding gained only in adulthood.
His comments reveal how distance from a difficult experience can change the way a person interprets it later in life, even when, as a child, it seemed entirely normal.
By speaking candidly about both his assets and his family history, El Gran Wyoming offered a rare, personal insight into the life of one of Spanish television's most recognisable figures, balancing frank talk about his fortune with an emotional account of loss experienced early in life.
