Carlos Vinícius Says He Is Focused on Grêmio Amid Atlético-MG Interest
Listen to the story
Grêmio striker Carlos Vinícius has stated that he remains entirely focused on his current club, despite growing speculation surrounding interest from Atlético-MG.
According to reports, his contract with Grêmio is nearing its final stretch, a situation that has intensified questions about his next move.
Atlético-MG, one of the giants of Brazil's top-flight Série A, has reportedly carried out a sondagem, an informal inquiry regarding a possible transfer.
Speaking publicly, Carlos Vinícius was described as direct when addressing the matter, emphasising that his priority lies with Grêmio rather than any future negotiation.
He is currently the club's leading scorer in the Brasileirão this season, a factor that has reportedly attracted attention from rival sides.
His consistent performances in front of goal have made him one of the more sought-after attacking options among clubs looking to strengthen their squads.
The timing of the situation places Grêmio in a delicate position, as clubs often face the risk of losing players for free once contracts expire without renewal.
Although no official statement has been made by either club regarding a transfer, the interest from Atlético-MG adds pressure on Grêmio to resolve the player's contractual future.
For Atlético-MG, reportedly interested in reinforcing their attack, a move for an established goal-scorer could represent a significant boost ahead of future competitions.
Carlos Vinícius, however, has avoided discussing any hypothetical transfer in detail, choosing instead to reaffirm his commitment to performing for Grêmio in the present.
As the season continues, speculation is expected to persist until a clearer resolution emerges regarding his contractual situation.
