The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the Super Bowl. This win stopped the Chiefs from winning three Super Bowls in a row.
The Chiefs had been to the Super Bowl five times in the last six years. Many people thought they might win again. But the Eagles' strong defense helped them win the game.
This year’s Super Bowl was held in New Orleans. Donald Trump became the first US president to attend a Super Bowl. Other celebrities, including Taylor Swift, also attended.
The Eagles' defense sacked Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes six times. They also intercepted two of his passes. This is a big reason why the Chiefs lost.
This is the Eagles' second Super Bowl win. They also won in 2018.
Although the Chiefs did a good job of stopping the Eagles' running back, Jalen Hurts, the Eagles' quarterback, played very well. He was named the Most Valuable Player.
Two years ago, the Chiefs beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl. Hurts played well in that game too, but his team lost. Hurts said that he learned from the past and that his team’s defense was very important to their victory.
In the first half of the game, the Chiefs didn't do very well. The Eagles scored first. Then, their defense played strongly, intercepting Mahomes' passes and scoring touchdowns. The Eagles continued to score in the second half.
