Wall Street's Dow Jones Rebounds, Rises Over 600 Points
Listen to the story
The Dow Jones went up today. This is a big stock market number in America. At one point, it rose by 600 points.
Many healthcare company stocks went up a lot. These are companies that make medicine and help sick people.
Later, the Dow was up by 492 points. This happened around 4pm.
In Chicago, there was news about Japan too. The Nikkei futures showed 65,000 yen.
Earlier in the morning, the American market was mixed. Some stocks went up. Some stocks went down.
This happened because of two things. First, high interest rates made some stocks look too expensive. Second, tech stocks looked cheap to some buyers.
So people were buying and selling at the same time. This made the market move in different ways.
