Listen to the story

Spain has a special court called the National Court. This court is working on a case called the 'Leire case'.

Juanma Serrano was the president of Correos. Correos is the postal service in Spain.

Police officers from a group called the UCO made a copy of Serrano's phone. This copy is called a clone.

Serrano said the copy was not correct. He called it irregular. This means it did not follow the right rules.

Serrano did not accept this copy.

So, a judge named Pedraz asked for a new copy of the phone. He wants to protect the messages on it.

The messages may be important for the case. The judge wants to keep them safe.

The UCO also collected messages from another person. This person was the former chief of staff for Pedro Sánchez. Pedro Sánchez is the Prime Minister of Spain.

This new phone copy is part of a bigger investigation. An investigation means police look for facts about a crime.

The case is still going on. More information may come later.
