Listen to the story

A plane was flying to Israel. Suddenly, it fell very fast. It dropped 17,000 feet. This is about 5,200 metres. The plane fell in less than two minutes.

The plane did not fly to Israel. It was diverted. This means it changed its path and landed somewhere else.

A passenger on the plane talked about the moment. A passenger is a person who travels on a plane. The passenger said it felt like a rollercoaster. A rollercoaster is a fast ride at a fun park. It goes up and down very quickly.

The sudden drop in the plane is called a plunge. People on the plane were probably scared. Falling so fast and so far is not normal for planes.

We do not know why the plane fell. We also do not know where it landed instead. More information may come later.
