A new typhoon has formed near Japan. It is called Typhoon No. 22, or Atau.
Before it was a typhoon, it was a tropical depression. People call this a 'typhoon egg'. This means it can grow into a typhoon.
The Japan Meteorological Agency gave this information. They spoke about it on August 27, at 4:15 in the afternoon.
The typhoon may have very strong wind gusts. Experts think the wind speed can be 30 meters per second.
Experts also gave a number for the air pressure. They think it will be 996 hPa. Low air pressure means a stronger storm.
Nobody knows the exact path yet. Weather experts are watching rain and wind until September 7.
