Montella Set to Lose Job as Turkey Coach
Listen to the story
Vincenzo Montella is a football coach from Italy. He works for the Turkey national team. People once called him "revolutionary." This means he brought new and exciting ideas. Now, people say he is "expired." This means his ideas feel old now.
Turkey's football leaders have made a decision. They want to remove Montella from his job. This is called an exoneration. It means the team will get a new coach soon.
Montella spoke about his job. He said a coach on the bench is less happy than a coach who is winning. The bench is where coaches sit during a match.
He also said this situation is normal for him. He said he has built his whole career this way. A career is the work a person does for many years.
Fans in Turkey are not happy with the team's results. This is why Montella may lose his job. Many football coaches face this same problem.
