Italy to Add New Checks on Law 104 Leave Permits from 2026

Italy has a law called Law 104. It helps workers who care for family members with a disability. These workers can take special time off work. This time off is called a permit.
Soon, there will be new rules for this time off. The Italian agency INPS will make new checks. INPS gives money and help to workers in Italy. The new rules start in December. More rules start in 2026.
There is also a leave called parental leave. Parents can take this time off to care for their children. New rules will also change this leave.
Workers must follow new obligations. An obligation is something you must do. Companies must send information using a system called UNIEMENS. This is how companies tell INPS about workers' leave.
