Italy Cuts Fuel Tax on Diesel Until November 7

Italy has a new tax cut on diesel. The cut is on something called excise duty. This is a special tax on fuel.
The price of diesel goes down by about 4.9 cents. A cent is a small part of a euro. This means diesel is cheaper now.
The cut starts today. It will stop on 7 November. After that day, the price may go up again.
This is not the first time Italy has cut this tax. The government did this before, too. People call this problem "caro carburanti." It means fuel prices are too high.
Diesel is a type of fuel. Many cars and trucks use diesel. When diesel costs less, people pay less money for fuel.
The government wants to help drivers. High fuel prices are hard for families and businesses. A tax cut can make life easier for a short time.
Many people drive cars every day. Truck drivers also need diesel for their jobs. This tax cut will help them pay less until 7 November.
