Honda F1 Praises Alonso's Rain Record
Listen to the story
Honda F1 is happy about Fernando Alonso. He is a famous driver in Formula 1. People call him the "king of the rain."
Alonso is special in the rain. Since 2022, there have been 11 wet qualifying sessions. Qualifying is a race before the race. It decides where drivers start.
Alonso went to Q3 every time. Q3 is the last and best part of qualifying. Only 10 drivers go there. No other driver did this every time.
This happened again at a recent race. Alonso finished the qualifying in ninth place.
Alonso talked about racing in the rain. He said wet conditions are hard. A driver can make a small mistake and stop racing. Or a driver can get good points.
Honda makes engines for Alonso's team. They are proud of his skill in bad weather. Rain makes racing more difficult. Alonso stays calm and fast when it rains.
