Heavy Rain Warning Issued for Tokyo Areas
Listen to the story
Heavy rain fell in parts of Tokyo and Saitama today. The rain was very strong and fast. People in Kita Ward and near Itabashi Ward saw a lot of rain. People near Toda City in Saitama also saw a lot of rain. This rain was a record amount. A record means it is the most ever seen there.
The government gave a special warning. It is called a Level 4 warning. This is a very high warning level. It means big danger from rain. The warning was for five areas. These areas are Shinjuku Ward, Toshima Ward, Kita Ward, Itabashi Ward, and Bunkyo Ward.
A Level 4 warning means people must be very careful. It can mean flooding. Flooding is when water covers streets and homes. Officials asked people to stay safe. They told people to watch for news about the weather.
