Listen to the story

There is social anger in France. For one month, students have blocked high schools. They are angry about changes in society.

Now there will be sanctions. This means punishment. The punishment is for students who block the inside of schools.

Teachers also have a problem. Classes stopped during the blockades. Now schools must find time for the missed lessons. This is difficult.

On one Friday, there was more trouble. Police said 41 high schools were blocked. Police also detained 154 people. This means police took them and held them for a short time.

A government official called Laurent Nuñez gave these numbers. He works for the French government and talks about safety and order.

The government wants calm in schools. But many students still want to protest. The situation in France is not finished yet.
