In the city of Jijel, people had to leave their homes. The forest fires came close to the city. This is called an evacuation. Officials moved people to safe places.
In Béjaïa, the fires caused more damage. Two people died in a village called Boulayen. The village is near the town of Melbou.
Fire teams are still working on the ground. They want to control the fires in all areas. The situation is serious in many parts of the country.
