A new study looks at trade between the European Union (EU) and China. It found that the EU buys three times more goods from China than it sells to China. This is called a trade deficit. It means one side buys more than it sells.
In July, the gap was very big. It was more than €1bn every day. This means the EU spent much more money on Chinese goods than China spent on EU goods.
The study came out just before an important meeting. Chinese leader Xi Jinping planned to meet US leader Donald Trump. Many people watch trade between big countries like China, the US, and the EU.
Trade means buying and selling goods between countries. An import is something a country buys from another country. An export is something a country sells to another country.
