Alice Finot Wins Silver in 3000m Steeplechase at European Championships

Alice Finot is a French runner. She runs a race called the steeplechase. This race has jumps and water.
Two years ago, Finot won gold at the European Championships in Rome. This time, she won the silver medal. The race was 3000 metres long.
The event was the European Championships. Many athletes from Europe came to run.
Not all French runners had good news. Alice Miellet was the defending champion. But she did not finish well in her first race, called a heat. She could not go to the final.
Two other French runners had better luck. Nicolas-Marie Daru and Pierre Boudy are men who also run the steeplechase. They both won their heats. Now they can run in the final.
The steeplechase is a hard race. Runners must jump over hurdles. One hurdle has water behind it. Runners often fall in the water.
This year was a mix of good and bad news for French steeplechase runners. Finot did very well. Miellet did not.
