Narendra Modi won the election for Prime Minister of India his third time.
After winning, he said he will be fair to everyone.
Modi’s party, the BJP, won. But, another party, the INDIA Alliance, did really well, too.
Leaders from Bangladesh, Nepal and other countries came to congratulate Modi. Leaders from Pakistan and China did not come.
There were many police in Delhi to keep everyone safe. No planes could fly over the city.
Modi is the second person in India to be the leader three times. The first person was Jawaharlal Nehru.
Modi thanked everyone who voted for him. He said he will work hard. He wants to help people who do not have a lot of money and the middle class.
Some people think Modi was not nice to Muslims. But Modi said his party is kind to all religions.
The INDIA Alliance said they will make sure the government follows the rules of the country.

- Religion – A set of beliefs, practices, and values concerning the spiritual and moral aspects of life (e.g., Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, etc.)
- Government – the group of people who have the authority to make and enforce laws and manage a country or region; the people/group that manage and operate a country
- Follow a rule – Do what the rule says; To do what the guideline or instruction says
- Rule – A guideline or regulation; sometimes a law; A guide that tells us what we should or shouldn’t do
