Taylor Swift has made history. She is the first musician to have songs in all 10 spots of the ‘top 10 singles chart’ in the US.
Drake had the previous record with nine of the top 10 singles in September 2021. And before Drake, the Beatles had eight of the top 10 singles in 1964.
Taylor Swift’s record is thanks to her newest album called ‘Midnights’. It’s the fastest-selling album in 2022. The number one song from the album is ‘Anti-Hero’, which is now a trend on Tik Tok.
All 13 of the songs on the standard Midnights album are in the top 15 chart.
Fans were surprised when Taylor Swift announced the new album at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards in August.
The album had clever marketing, it was released in multiple designs. They also sold vinyl editions.
Midnights became the number one album in the US, selling 1.4 million copies. More than one million copies were CD and vinyl, which is very rare these days because of digital music.
Swift has broken some other records because of her latest album. She has the most top 10 hits for women with a total of 40. Madonna, in second position, has 38. Midnights is the first album in history to have 10 ‘top 10 singles’. And, she broke the record for most streams of an album in one day on Spotify, Apple, and Amazon Music.
