A science journal reported that more than one billion people in the world are obese

Obesity is bad for your health. It can cause heart problems, diabetes, and cancer.

Tonga and American Samoa have the most obese women in the world. American Samoa and Nauru have the most obese men in the world. In these countries, more than 70% of the adults are too heavy.

The UK is ranked 55th for the most obese men and 87th for the most obese women. The US is ranked 10th for the most obese men and 36th for women.

India and China are ranked very low. They do not have many obese people.

The report checked 190 countries.

Some island countries have many obese people because healthy food is too expensive. Unhealthy food is cheaper and easy to find.

Big problems like climate change, COVID-19, and the war in Ukraine could make healthy food more expensive.
