The luxury sports car company Lamborghini could sell 10,000 cars this year for the first time in the company’s history

The company sold 5,341 cars in the first half of the year, which is 4.9% more than last year. The United States is the company’s largest market. 1,625 cars were delivered there in the first half of this year.

The CEO of Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, said that it is not easy to make forecasts, but that selling 10,000 cars this year is a “feasible goal.” He said that selling 10,000 cars would show the health of the company and how much demand there is for their cars.

Lamborghini has been doing well in recent years, thanks to the success of their Urus SUV. The Urus costs around 200,000 euros ($219,900) before tax.

The company delivered over 9,200 vehicles in 2022. Their rival, Ferrari, delivered more than 13,200 cars last year.

Now, Lamborghini is investing 1.9 billion euros until 2027 to shift to hybrid and electric cars. They have already launched their first hybrid model, the Revuelto. The company plans to launch their first fully-electric model in 2028.

Winkelmann says that it is important for Lamborghini to launch their electric cars at the right time.

He also says that Lamborghini might use e-fuels, but only for the sports cars. Any decisions about possible e-fuel powered models for the next decade depends on regulations in different parts of the world.
