Starting August 1, Sprite will come in clear bottles

The Coca-Cola company says that Sprite will stop using the famous green bottle and start using clear plastic bottles in August.

It may seem funny, but changing the bottle from green to clear is part of the company’s plans to go green. Coca-Cola says that clear plastic is easier to recycle.

It also announced that Sprite will get a new logo and packaging design.

Other drink brands under Coca-Cola will also make changes to their packaging. The company says it’s for environmental reasons.

Coca-Cola said that green plastic can be recycled, but the material cannot be used for food packaging. Recycled green plastic can only be used in products like clothing or carpet.

By using clear plastic, old bottles can be recycled into new bottles.

The CEO of recycling company R3CYCLE, which works with Coca-Cola Company, says that clear plastic has many benefits. Improved quality and the possibility to use the material with food are favorable points.
