Can I Take the TOEIC Test Online?

It is possible to take the Listening & Reading TOEIC test online in some countries.

However, the Listening & Reading TOEIC test is generally a paper-and-pencil format. The test is administered at authorized testing centers with trained supervisors who make sure that the testing conditions are fair for everyone.

The Speaking & Writing TOEIC test is done on a computer at a test center.

What’s a Good Score in TOEIC?

Well, the best score on the Listening and Reading TOEIC test is 990. In general, a score of 700 or higher on this test is considered good. It’s important to find out if a certain score is required by your employer or school.

As for the Speaking and Writing TOEIC test, the maximum score is 400.

Which Is Better, TOEIC or TOEFL?

It’s not really possible to say which test is better. It honestly depends on your goals or the requirements of your school or employer.

Both tests do a good job of evaluating a person’s English skills. However, the TOEFL focuses more on academic topics. It’s more common for a university to request a TOEFL score than a TOEIC score. You can read more about this test in my post about TOEFL.

On the other hand, the TOEIC is more focused on professional topics and is more commonly used by businesses. Some businesses will ask for a TOEIC score with a job application. In some companies, a high TOEIC score might be required for promotion or a job transfer.
